Description:

The Crisisbuddy application serves as a practical tool designed to offer guidance during times when managing difficult emotional situations becomes challenging. It is primarily targeted at young adults experiencing intense emotions and struggling to identify appropriate coping behaviors in stressful circumstances. While the app can be used independently, it is also suitable for use under supervision.

The application provides an organized overview of personal skills and a variety of exercises aimed at self-help. Users have the ability to add custom exercises and develop personalized signaling plans; however, the app already incorporates numerous standard mindfulness practices.

All relevant information—including emotional states, behavioral tendencies, coping skills, and contact details for therapists or trusted individuals—is clearly displayed within the interface. The app is compatible with both tablets and smartphones, facilitating access anytime and anywhere.

Crisisbuddy integrates elements derived from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DGT), also known as Linehan Therapy. Additional information about this therapeutic approach can be found at www.karakter.com.

The application is part of DGDigitaal, a comprehensive program that includes the Crisisbuddy app, Serious Game, and instructional videos. It has been developed by Jacomijn Jacobs and Rob Reijnen.
